Key Responsibilities:
Support all database systems including monitoring and continuous product stabilisation efforts
Familiarise with the environments supported including product line, hardware, databases, storage and deliverables
Work closely with fellow DBA's
Provide excellent support to internal and external clients
Work with MS SQL Server, ORACLE and SYBASE systems
Provide 2nd level production databases support
Adhere to "Database Team Rules" and "Production Rules"
Adhere to internal policies and standards
Document reusable processes and maintain existing database system documentation
Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Install RDBMS software and build new servers according to specification
Perform the following database administration tasks under immediate supervision: Monitor production database(s) availability, monitor storage capacities, allocate system storage and planning future storage requirements for database systems, monitor fragmentation, research and resolve errors and traces, code, set up, maintain and support database maintenance jobs such as backups, rebuilds, DBCC's, analyse statistics etc

Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (computer science, electronics engineering etc)
Ability to document environments via the use of Visio, Excel and Word
Willing to participate in a rotating on call roster supporting the Windows environments of their internal and external clients
