The Office of Native Title The Office of Native Title is responsible for the resolution of native title matters in accordance with Government policy
The vision of the Office of Native Title is to resolve native title matters in Western Australia to create lasting certainty
The mission of the Office of Native Title is to provide effective leadership for the timely resolution of native title matters through negotiation and sustainable agreements
The role of the Native Title Management Unit is to oversee the resolution of native title claims and other native title negotiations
This includes: § Negotiating consent determinations of native title § Managing the conduct of Federal Court litigations § Negotiating strategic land use agreements § Establishing regional priorities for the resolution of native title claims The Principal Claims Manager This permanent, full-time, Pool position will be open for 12 months
The Principal Claims Manager works as part of a team that is responsible for managing native title claims in Western Australia

Here exists an exciting opportunity for a person with strong experience in Marine Insurance, to put their legal and claims prevention knowledge to good use in this very diverse role
The position is responsible for hands-on management of legal advice and claims management for the company's shipping liner services and provision of timely guidance to regional and operating company personnel, on issues regarding transportation law, cargo claims, and other transportation regulatory policies
In addition, the incumbent will develop and maintain the standard operating procedures for cargo claims along with documentation, tracking of claims, periodic status and summary reporting of the same
The incumbent will also be the ISO leader for the company

5-7 years claims management experience, preferably in cargo claims management, as well as supervisory experience is preferred
Experience in appropriate maritime law or shipping law also required, along with well developed communication skills including proven decisiveness in dealings with managers, staff and third parties
High-level proficiency in IT office applications; specifically MS Excel, MS Outlook, filing systems and related reporting tools is essential
Experience with process review and improvement initiatives and related change management also required
