Perth’s finest hotel is seeking an experienced Conference & Events Manager to run our busy banqueting department


Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you will have a high level of maturity in order to effectively manage the service side of Conference & Events
You will be supported by two wonderful Supervisors, two sensational Team Leaders and all other teams within the Hotel


The Hotel is aiming to be Perth’s leader in conference and events and have begun a soft refurbishment of our 6 conference rooms and grand ballroom, with more plans in the pipelines
You will need to be strategic and innovation, and excited about leading the team of the future
You will be enthusiastic and willing to ‘roll up your sleeves’ to help your team get the job done


We understand it is the ‘details that makes the Duxton’ and expect all of our employees to go above and beyond to provide superior service
We know service isn’t just something that we do, its everything that we do – and we’re good at it too!

You will be responsible for:
- Motivating, training and leading your large team of 30+ staff
- Controlling all operational, budgetary and administration functions for the Department
- Providing hands on supervision for staff
- Managing rosters, wage costings and stock control

You will have:
- The ability to work a variety of shifts including mornings, mids, evenings and weekends
- Prior experience as a Conference and Events / Banquets Supervisor or Manager within a 4 or 5 star property
- Completion of (or working towards) tertiary education within Hospitality / Tourism Management
- A high level of maturity and demonstrated training and leadership skills
- Highly developed organizational and communication skills
- The ability to liaise with people from all walks of life
- A genuine desire to build a solid hospitality career

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced business development manager or sales manager with experience in the MICE industry
