Position Summary The position will respond to service stream requests via telephone; email, fax etc and work to identify and implement an outcome to the satisfaction of the requester and complete the transaction requirements
The position will demonstrate and provide a customer focused service
'Critical thinking and higher level clinical decision making will be required as a number of complex service requests will be made
Although decision making will be supported by decision support tools, the clinician will be required to draw on extensive clinical knowledge and expertise to identify service options based on accurate data collection and an analysis of the callers request and or client /patient needs
' Negotiations with senior clinical staff will be required to progress and complete a range of service requests
The position will be required to develop knowledge and skills in all SPA service streams to function effectively in the position
The use of technology and the ability to move from one SPA service request type to another is essential
The position will be allocated a specific SPA portfolio responsibility which will be negotiated and dependent on the applicants knowledge, skills and professional development aspirations
The position will be located in the SPA contact centre and undertake a range of the service functions described above
Essentials o Recognised qualifications in a health discipline, (e
g
nursing, social work, psychology, physiotherapy or occupational therapy) and current NSW registration if required
o Demonstrated experience and skills in a customer focused service
o Demonstrate commitment to the patients right to be involved in decision making and to exercise choice and control in their own health care
